Eren Nil

Pioneer of Institutional Private Equity in Turkey

Profile
Eren Nil is a founding partner of Turkven Private Equity, Turkey's first and largest independent private equity firm. Together with Seymur Tarı and Evren Ünver, Nil began building the fund structure in 2000 — stepping away from JP Morgan to pursue a conviction that Turkey's growth companies were profoundly underserved by institutional capital. Turkven was formally established in 2002, and with it, Nil became one of the architects of Turkey's private equity ecosystem.
Over more than two decades, he has played a central role in shaping the firm’s investment strategy, sourcing and structuring large-scale transactions, and channeling capital from leading international institutions into Turkey’s most dynamic companies. Turkven’s portfolio — which includes Mavi, Domino’s Pizza, Migros, Medical Park, and Pronet — stands as a testament to the discipline and conviction he helped instill from day one.
Education
MBA  —  INSEAD, France
The foundation of Turkven’s founding partnership was built here, where Nil and Seymur Tarı developed their shared vision for institutional private equity in Turkey.
BSc, Industrial Engineering & Management Sciences  —  Northwestern University, Chicago
A technical and analytical grounding that informs his approach to value creation and operational improvement within portfolio companies.
Career
JP Morgan  |  International Banking
Prior to founding Turkven, Nil built his early career at JP Morgan, gaining hands-on experience in international capital markets and cross-border transactions — the institutional discipline that would later define Turkven’s investment rigor.
Turkven Private Equity  |  Director & Co-Founder  (2000 – 2024)
As a founding Director, Nil has been central to over $5 billion in total investments and the management of a portfolio exceeding $1.5 billion in AUM. Turkven’s LP base — which has included IFC, the European Investment Bank, and the German and Dutch development banks — reflects the institutional credibility he and his partners established from the outset.
Today
Alongside his work at Turkven, Nil now invests his own capital in early-stage ventures, bringing the same discipline he applied to large-cap buyouts to Turkey’s next generation of founders. He is also recognized as a mentor and guide to professionals navigating the investment landscape — generously sharing the hard-won experience of the roads he has already traveled.
Most recently, Nil was featured on the cover of StartUp (Business Leaders) magazine’s March–May 2026 edition — a recognition of his standing not only as a pioneer of institutional capital in Turkey, but as an active and respected voice in the country’s evolving startup ecosystem.
